A 4-day hiking to explore Akha and Khmu ethnic groups in Muang Khua. Code: M. Khua40003
Day1: Paknamnoi – Picher Mai – Picher Kao – Honglerk , (_/L/D), (walk 3-4 hours)
We meet and start from Paknamnoi to Picher Mai where we start our hiking by private car, it takes 45 minutes – 1 hour. Then we will walk from there to Picher Kao and Honglerk villages where we are going to spend overnight. Today, we will walk between 3-4-hours and we will get there in the evening. On the hike, you will see amazing views of mountains and landscapes and meet locals to see about their living life in remote area.
- We will have lunch in on the trek/in village.
- Have dinner: have local food with local family, Homestay: Spend overnight with local family in Honglerk village
Note: We are very happy to arrange a private car for you if you start from Muang Khua/Muang Xay where you are:
- If you are staying in Muang khua, pick you up from your guesthouse to Paknamnoi at 7:30 am by a private car transfer to Paknamnoi, it takes between 1 hour. The price of private car transfer per group is………
- If you are staying in Muang Xai/Muang Xay, pick you up from your guesthouse in Muang Xay to Paknamnoi at: 7: 30 am by private car, it takes between 1,5-2 hours. The price of private car transfer per group is………

Day2: Honglerk – Saenkham Tai (4-5 hours)
After walking around the village and having breakfast in the morning, we will walk from Honglerk village to Saenkham Tai village (Akha Pala) the place where we are going to spend overnight, it takes between 4-5 hours walk. On the hiking, we will walk up and down the mountains and you also can see and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and views.
- We will have breakfast in Honglerk village.
- We will have lunch on the trek (have picnic lunch)/in Saenkham Tai village.
- Have dinner: have local food with local family, Homestay: Spend overnight with local family.
- Approximately: 4-5-hour trekking, Trekking level: moderate
Day3: Saenkham Tai – Sanamchaeb – Chala Kao, (B/L/D), (walk 5-6 hours)
After walking around the village and having breakfast in the morning, we will walk from Saenkham Tai (Akha Pala) to Sanamchaeb village – Chala Kao (Akha Pala) the place where we are going to spend overnight, it takes between 5-6 hours walk. On the hiking, you can see and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and views along ridge of mountains.
- We will have breakfast in Saenkham Tai
- We will have lunch on the trek (have picnic lunch)/in Sanamchaeb village.
- Have dinner: have local food with local family, Homestay: Spend overnight with local family in Chala Kao village.
Approximately: 5-6-hour trekking, Trekking level: moderate
Day4: Chala Kao – Sapor – Huayxang – Paknamnoi (B/L/_)
After walking around the village and having breakfast in the morning, we will walk from Chala Kao village (Akha Pala) to Huayxang village the place where we will catch our private car back Paknamnoi, have lunch and end the tour there, it takes between 4-5-hours walk. On the hiking, you can see and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and views along ridge of mountains and meet locals.
- We will have breakfast in Chala Kao village
- We will have lunch in Paknamnoi and end the tour there.
Note: We are also happy to arrange a private car transfer for you if you need after ending the tour.
Approximately: 4-5-hour trekking, 10 mn car transfer, Trekking level: moderate
- Trek starts at: 8:30 am at your guesthouse in Paknamnoi.
- Trek ends at: noon/1-2 pm
What you should bring for the trek:
Good shoes for trekking, long pants, hat, raincoat (rainy season), mosquito spray, warm jackets, shorts, T-shirt for changing, toilet papers, spare some medicines, headlight/torch.
